These outstanding students were chosen for their
scholastic record, student need and their ability and sincerity
in pursuing employment in the nursery industry in Idaho. Each
student received a check for $750.00.
Award winners are:
Rachel Gerlach is from Boise, currently attending
the College of Western Idaho to obtain her associate degree
in Horticulture Technology.
Micah Wood is from Rigby, currently attending
BYU-Idaho and plans to graduate with a bachelors degree in Horticulture
design build.
Ismael Ruelas is from Shelley,
currently attending BYU-Idaho and plans to graduate from the
Horticulture department and then continue on to pursue a master
in Landscape Architecture.
Ashley Barkow is from Idaho Falls, currently attending
BYU-Idaho and is studying arboriculture. Ismael Ruelas is from
Shelley, currently attending BYU-Idaho and plans to graduate
from the Horticulture department and then continue on to pursue
a master in Landscape Architecture.
Heather Smith is from Twin Falls, currently attending
the College of Southern Idaho and plans to one day own and operate
a greenhouse and help to educate young people on all aspects
of plant growing.
